Leading the way in 2020: Winners of the Thames Valley SME 100 Award for Leadership
The month of March might feel like a lifetime ago, but it’s actually, only eight months since TCC ranked #13 in the Thames Valley SME Top 100 Growth Index.
Since then, you don’t need me to tell you that a million and one things have happened; but, most recently, I’m thrilled to announce another Thames Valley-based victory. Last week, we were awarded the Thames Valley SME 100 Award 2020 for Leadership.
Winning any award is cause for celebration, especially at a time where any reason to reach for a glass of bubbly is even more than welcome than usual. So, it goes without saying that the entire team at TCC are delighted. But, whilst this award is based on our achievements over previous years, the truth is that it’s a testament to so much more than that.
The Business Leadership Award is awarded to one of the Top SME 100 companies who demonstrate true leadership as a management team that can be viewed as motivational, decisive or innovative in the pursuit of excellence that has helped drive the business forward.
A few years ago, we set out on a journey to re-purpose and reinvigorate the business; to adapt to an ever-changing landscape and create a new methodology that our clients need and want, as opposed to something we had to convince them to buy.
At the core of that new agency offering was brand performance: our defining process which combines creativity and strategy to transform how brands are seen by their customers. It’s a practice in which we define objectives with deep-dive research, determine a strategy based on our findings, execute that proposal with creative flair, and evaluate our work as we prepare to reload.
As our narrative changed, so did everything else; we invested in people, we learned about ourselves, we challenged our assumptions, we questioned what had gone before, we listened a lot, and we became experts in our fields. We empowered decision-makers, boundary breakers, and risk-takers, proudly broadcasting our work in industry awards and their results on social media and whitepapers.
So, as humbling as it was to receive the Thames Valley SME 100 Award 2020 for Leadership, it is welcome third-party acknowledgement that our endeavors are working.
To some ‘leadership’ might speak solely of the people in charge, but not here. Every single member of Team TCC plays a part in making our agency what it is. Regardless of their role, rhyme or remit, everyone consistently steps up to the mark and makes sure our clients know they are dealing with passionate people who care about the work they do and how it works for them.
That is leadership. That is endeavor. That is admirable. And that is why we’re celebrating this award together.
