When you can get away with this, or even attempt it, you know your brand identity is solid. No ‘logo’ apart from the obvious. No mention of McDonald’s in the copy – you can imagine a lot of pressure coming from client to possibly introduce McDonald’s into the text. But the lack of branding and confidence in the brand itself adds to the charm and impact of the billboards. They might be simple wayfinding media placements and not adverts but what a great way to inject and imprint your brand personality into what is traditionally a very basic (yet very important) execution.
