A marathon with a sprint finish!
We have just taken delivery of our 12th edition of The European Tour Yearbook. Having embarked on this project on 12th December 2010 when the final putt rolled in to conclude the first event on the 2011 Race to Dubai in South Africa, not a week has gone by without this magnificent publication at the forefront of our minds. It has been another amazing season on The European Tour with three of the majors going to European Tour members and Luke Donald winning the money lists on both sides of the Atlantic with his Mizuno irons. A year in which the golfing world mourned the passing of perhaps the most charismatic golfer ever, Severiano Ballesteros.
This edition is a particularly satisfying achievement due to the season ending two weeks later than in previous years. As anyone in our industry will already have realised, our deadline for delivery remained the same as previous years. On Sunday 11th of December the editorial team from The European Tour and our design team were assembled around our boardroom table putting the finishing touches to the last remaining chapters following the conclusion of the Race to Dubai only hours before. By Monday lunchtime all 240 pages were at the printers. Thanks to heroic efforts of the guys at The Print House the complete case bound book was delivered on Friday 16th of December.
Our client was quite pleased too!
“Amazing! Great Yearbook, Great Team. Without question this is the best ever. The clarity, colour, definition is stunning and compliments the content, photography and the design. Quite honestly, I cannot thank everyone involved enough for a supreme production – a fitting tribute to an astonishing year for The European Tour. Your dedication and commitment to ensuring that the bar is raised each year is essential to the success of a publication which in my opinion is better than any annual produced by any sporting organisation and my thanks to each and every one of you.”
